MATC Hosts Sustainability Summit and Exposition April 11-12

Milwaukee Area Technical College will host the 15th annual “Sustainability Summit and Exposition” Wednesday-Thursday, April 11-12. The theme of the 2018 summit is “Moving Toward a Sustainable Economy: Engaging Our Future Leaders.” The summit will be held at MATC’s Downtown Milwaukee Campus, 700 W. State St.
Summit attendance is free for students and faculty and staff of sponsoring institutions. The cost is $150 per day or $250 for both days for other attendees. Register at http://www.sustainabilitysummit.us.
The summit will feature speakers and breakout sessions that highlight opportunities in sustainability for investment, development, education, employment and sustainable living. Topics include energy, water, lifestyle, business and workforce, education, energy efficiency, financing, green agriculture, green buildings, green business and manufacturing, green careers, innovation, recycling, renewables, social responsibility and transportation.
Among the major speakers are Dr. Vicki J. Martin, MATC president; Chris Abele, Milwaukee County executive; Tom Barrett, mayor, City of Milwaukee; Seth VanderLaan, executive chef, Miller Park; Dr. Mark Felsheim, vice president, MATC Oak Creek Campus; Linda Reid, executive director, Southeast Wisconsin Watersheds Trust; and Tyler Huebner, executive director, RENEW Wisconsin.
