MATC to Host Free Chemical Technology & Biotechnology Workshop for High School Students June 20-30

MATC will host a free summer course in biotechnology and chemical technology for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. The workshop will be held Mondays through Thursdays on MATC's Downtown Milwaukee from June 20-30. The daily session will run from 9 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
The workshop, Laboratory Techniques in Biochemical Research (NATSCI-292), is worth one college credit upon successful completion and is ideal for high school students who are:
- Fascinated by biotechnology, chemistry or biochemical science
- Inquisitive and a hands-on learners
- Interested in using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment to conduct experiments
Attendees will conduct biotechnology and chemical technology experiments and tour various MATC lab facilities.
Free daily lunch and Milwaukee County Transit System bus passes will be provided to attendees.
Knowledge of basic chemistry and algebra is recommended, but not required.

The workshop is part of MATC's BEST (Biochemical Excellence in Science and Technology) program, sponsored by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
