Refugee Crisis was Topic of Presentation at MATC's Downtown Milwaukee Campus
Oct. 1, 2015
Italian actor, writer and videographer Alessandro Renda spoke and answered questions about the crisis of refugees stranded in the Mediterranean. The public presentation was held Sept. 24 at MATC's Downtown Milwaukee Campus.
Renda talked about the refugee crisis and the role of the arts in shedding light on social issues of the day.
Renda is the lead in the play "Rumore Di Acque" (Noise in the Waters), which runs from Oct. 1-4, at Theatre Gigante, Kenilworth Square East Building, 1925 Kenilworth Place, Milwaukee. Based on true stories, the play shows the tragedy of refugees who are attempting to flee Africa by sea.
The presentation was co-sponsored by MATC's School of Liberal Arts and Sciences and AFT Local 212.
