Renal Dialysis Technician

Prepare for a healthcare career as a renal dialysis technician (RDT). Dialysis is a procedure that is needed by people with kidney failure. Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, RDTs are responsible for setting up equipment, preparing dialysate solutions, performing venipuncture, and monitoring patient responses during the procedure. In addition, RDTs are responsible for quality control and maintenance of dialysis equipment.
Career Outlook: In the health field, RDTs are in demand and find employment in hospitals and in freestanding dialysis centers.

A criterion considered in the petition process is verification of student residency. Students selected via the petition process are chosen based on MATC district residency, then Wisconsin nondistrict residency, followed by nonresidents, unless otherwise stated.
