Phlebotomists perform functions such as blood drawing, specimen processing, lab procedures and clerical duties. To prepare for this career, you will learn the theory and practical skills of phlebotomy through the on-campus laboratory sessions and experiences at local healthcare facilities.

Career Outlook: The demand for phlebotomists continues to grow. The career ladder has additional opportunities including laboratory assistant and medical laboratory technology.

Career Pathway: You can earn the Healthcare Customer Service certificate on your way to completing this program. After earning this technical diploma, your credits can be applied toward completing the Healthcare Services Management associate degree.

A criterion considered in the petition process is verification of student residency. Students selected via the petition process are chosen based on MATC district residency, then Wisconsin nondistrict residency, followed by nonresidents, unless otherwise stated.
